  • If you are convicted of trafficking or distributing a controlled substance to a corrections officer, you could face up to 20 years in prison.
  • If you are convicted of trafficking or distributing a controlled substance that results in the death of a corrections officer, you could face up to life in prison.

When determining your sentence, the judge will consider the following:

  • The amount of the drug involved
  • Whether the offense involved a weapon
  • If anyone was hurt in the offense
